About
Our standards
UpListed answers aim to be credible, measurable, verifiable and local. Here is what each of those means in practice.
Credible
Every answer comes from a licensed agent who works in the area it covers.
- Each answer names its author and reviewer, with their license number and brokerage.
- Each answer includes the agent's own first-hand experience. AI may help draft and organize, but an answer can't be published without that experience.
- Recommendations are not paid placements, and relationships between UpListed and the agents it recommends are disclosed on the page.
Measurable
Expertise is shown in numbers a reader can weigh, not adjectives.
- Agent profiles show closed sales by year, by area and by side of the transaction.
- Buyer-side and seller-side experience are counted separately, because representing a buyer is different work from listing a home.
- Recommendations state the role an agent fits, such as buyer's agent or listing agent, and the experience behind it.
Verifiable
Readers can check what we say.
- Answers cite their sources, favoring statutes and government pages.
- Sales show whether they come from MLS records or from the agent, and when they were last verified.
- Client reviews are quoted as written and link to the platform where they were posted. Every license can be checked with the California Department of Real Estate.
- Every answer shows when it was first published and when it was last reviewed.
Local
Real estate answers depend on where you are.
- Every answer states the location it applies to, down to the neighborhood where it matters.
- Local considerations, such as hillside rules or city ordinances, are addressed directly rather than left general.
- Agents answer only for markets where they work, and are recommended only there.
